The Firm advises clients on the compliance with the laws applicable to their business, such as in corporate law, capital markets, Exchange Control and Regulatory requirements, Foreign Corrupt Practices Legislation of various countries and various industry-specific regulations, and represents them before various statutory and regulatory bodies, agencies and departments of the Government of India including Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Defence, Registrar of Companies, Regional Directors, Ministry of Corporate Affairs and other Ministries under the Government of India, Reserve Bank of India, Stock Exchanges, Securities and Exchange Board of India for obtaining requisite approvals including those for External Commercial Borrowings, Equity Investments and Capital Market transactions etc.
We also represent and defend clients in matters involving proceedings relating to Economic Offences under various statutes including violations of Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999, Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 1973, Regulations framed by Reserve Bank of India, SEBI, Prevention of Money Laundering Act, etc. The Firm also supports clients in matters of criminal law, for example, under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, as well as cases involving criminal misappropriation, criminal breach of trust, cheating, extortion, malicious prosecution, money laundering, etc.
